Phoebe Cates was only ten years old when she first entered the entertainment industry as a model. She appeared in various teen-oriented magazines, including Seventeen. This New Yorker was born and raised into a family that had a lot of connections in Broadway and television production. After all, she is the daughter of a pioneering personality in television and a huge Broadway producer— Joseph and Lily Cates. They helped create the game show, The $64,000 Questions.
No wonder she was destined for the screens. Phoebe is famous for portraying roles in numerous movies, including Gremlins and Drop Dead Fred. One of her biggest film credits is from the motion picture Fast Times at Ridgemont High. She is now 57 years old, and her most recent work was for the video game called Lego Dimensions back in 2015. She was also the voice actress behind the character Kate Beringer, her Gremlins character.
