Gloria Estefan
Gloria Estefan is a Cuban-American singer/actress known for her appearances in Music of the Heart, For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, Elmopalooza, The Next, Fame Is at Your Doorstep, and One Day at a Time. All of these TV and film appearances, though, are attributed to her success as a singer-song-songwriter.
Gloria began her illustrious music career as the lead singer for the group Miami Sound Machine. She experienced worldwide success for the song Conga. Apart from receiving a Grammy Award, Gloria is also a recipient of an honorary doctoral degree, from the University of Miami, in music. She also received the Medallion of Excellence from the Hispanic Caucus Institute for her community service. In 2014 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her contributions to American Music. To this day, Gloria continues to impart her musical prowess. She recently released the album Brazil305 in August 2020.
